Not far from Lord Street, you'll find the Pavilion Restaurant nestled within the Royal Clifton Hotel. It's a mish-mash of your classic Brit dishes available alongside a bunch of Modern European and Continental kind of fare, and all the ingredients are locally sourced and flavoursome and wholesome. Go on, we're listening...
Seasonal too! Blimey, Mr Ramsay would be proud. The chef's won awards so there are no scruples there, and with a wide veggie variety to choose from as well as some meaty traditional meals and specials which are added to the menu for something a little different, their availability based upon the local markets or the season.
Fabulous stuff. Add to that an eclectic wine list with some really highbrow vintage offerings as well as enthusiastic staff who'll attend to your every whim with exceptional service, alongside a relaxing lounge for pre-dinner drinks and the option of regular live music and jazz with your meal, and you've got the recipe for a decent evening out methinks. I didn't expect to find something quite so tranquil in Southport, so it's certainly worth a look.
Pavilion Restaurant is situated on Coronation Walk just 100 yards from Lord Street and is part of the renowned Royal Clifton Hotel. Inside the restaurant is very stylish with a very modern feel. The menu has been created by award winning chef Craig O'Brien and includes both English and Continental dishes. If you want to you can dine privately. Don't forget to take advantage of the pre drinks lounge and the regular live jazz and other musical entertainment.
Visited the other day and was delighted to see home made soup on the menu. Two options. I went with tomato soup and half a sandwhich. Everything was so fresh and flavoursome. Staff were lovely and attentive. I have never had a bad experience here. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a breakfast/lunch/brunch.
